Trip Overview
This 12-day trip will explore Southern France through the eyes and art of its most famous artists. We will visit gorgeous gardens in various styles, see art in museums and in artists studios, and have lots of time for your own, plein air, artwork practice.
We will begin in the Dordogne. You will be picked up at the airport or train station in Toulouse by our transportation service and brought directly to our gite (villa). You will have the afternoon for rest or exploration, and we will all meet for a delightful Welcome Dinner. From there, we will explore, by private mini-van, the heart of Southern France.

In addition to stunning panoramic views, perfect ancient villages, boat tours, and farmers markets, we will visit the Toulouse-Lautrec museum, and an artist village. Floating gardens await us, as well as a visit to an illustrated prehistoric cave. .

The following three days will be our foray into Provence, a region filled with Roman history, wild nature preserves, and stunning landscapes. Staying in a villa, we will have day trips to visit Van Gogh's room in Arles and Cezanne's studio in Aix-en-Provence. We will spend a day out in the Camargue, moving through the flamingo-filled country and seeing herds of wild horses. You will love to capture the light and scenes of this region in your sketches and photographs!

The last leg of our journey finds us in the Cote D'Azur where we will visit the Chagall museum, the Matisse museum, and Renoir's home. We will also enjoy the gorgeous beaches and ritzy world of Nice. We'll take an evening boat cruise as our farewell dinner and our driver will take you back to the airport or train station on your departure day.
